Why Ihumātao is being occupied

This article follows a timeline of events including the waitangi settlement in 1840 the land confiscation in 1863 and the protests at Ihumātao in june 2019

In 2015 pania newton the cofounder of soul, raised concerns about the true ownership of the land at Ihumātao in mānere, Auckland over the last 4 years, soul (save our unique landscapes) have been to a variety of political organisation, such as  Auckland city council, environmental court and united nations to ask for support in overturning fletchers decision to build 480 houses upon the land. 

Conclusion: the people that get in the way of the police can get arrested
